I'm always looking for ways to optimize my workouts to get the most fat burning benefits as I possibly can. I think that's really the goal for most of us who workout. We don't want to waste our valuable time and we want to get results! So here are 4 tips that you can try to shake up your workouts and crank up the fat burning. The idea behind this 4 step protocol is to help prepare your body's fat burning hormones to burn fat more effectively during your workout. This is not for beginners! Only try this if you've been working out fairly consistently for about 3 months or more.
So it turns out that working out on an empty stomach in the morning actually helps you
burn more body fat. You can optimize your workouts to become a massive fat burning activity. Try these 4 steps to set up your fat burning hormones to optimally burn fat.
1.Do your workout in the morning before you eat breakfast. Working out in the morning in a fasted state allows your body to burn stored fat for energy instead of carbohydrates.
2.For an extra kick add some caffeine before your workout. Having caffeine helps promote more fat burning especially on an empty stomach
3.Skip the steady state cardio and replace it with a high intensity interval workout(HIIT). Doing a HIIT workout or Tabata Training forces your body to release fat from your fat stores to be burned as fuel.
4. Don't eat for at least an hour after your workout. This will allow your body to optimize it's full fat burning potential.
Combine all four and you have the perfect hormonal scenario for optimal fat burning. You don’t need to workout longer than 20 - 30 minutes. You can do short intense workouts… like Tabata training or HIIT Workouts and still experience all of the accelerated fat burning. Having caffeine will boost your fat burning even more. The important thing here is not to put any calories in your body to ensure that your fat burning hormones are primed to work optimally.
The protocol I’ve just outlined is difficult to do. It takes discipline and planning. Be careful not to over do this, because it can be hard on your body. I wouldn’t recommend doing this everyday. Doing exercise in a fasted state can be a very effective way to burn off fat, but it’s also quite hard on your body. I wouldn't suggest you do this more than 2 - 3 times a week…
If you can't follow this protocol here's some other things that will help you optimize your fat burning.
* A Very low carb diet (around 50g per day) also helps you burn more fat and according to
some experts, it allows a similar fat burning process to occur without having to fast.
*Waiting 3-4 hours after you have eaten to do your workout has a similar effect as the full fasted state.
